Here is a short clip of a recent class:
So it has been 3 weeks since the cruise, and I have been on a mission to loose the weight I had gained on it. Before the weekend I was back down to 197, so I only have 6 more pounds to go. That brings the total weight loss since our return to 19 pounds! When I finally reach my goal I will post what I did to get there so stay tuned.
Now on to more exciting news! Angelica and I had our engagement party this past Friday. It was scheduled to be Saturday but the impending Hurricane Irene was determined to not allow that to happen. The city and state authorities where planning on closing bridges Saturday night in preparation for the storm. So we had a decision to make, have the party on Saturday as planned… and hope everyone will not be scared to come(I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t), wait another week and risk having bad weather again, or have the party a day early where good weather was guaranteed! We were worried that if we had it a day early people would have plans already made and wouldn’t be able to make it… but luckily mostly everyone was able to make it, and even people who had responded “NO” for Saturday on the invitations could now make it! We where very happy with the turn out. Just look at how happy we are:

We hope everyone had a great time at the party and are very thankful for your gifts! I hope everyone prepared well for the storm and made it out with minor damages.

Just got back from my 10 day cruise. My goal before the cruise was to weigh under 195 and stay below 8% body fat. Below is a pic we took the first day of the cruise I weigh 191 pounds and have a bf of 7.5%:
During the vacation my fiance and I decided we would work out only on our days at sea for at least 1 hour. The cruise had a planned 5 days at sea… a hurricane forced us to miss a port (San Juan) so we had an extra day at sea making it a total of 6.
The Caribbean Princess has a foot track that goes around the full diameter of the boat, it also has 2 stair cases for an added challenge. 2.7 laps would equate 1 mile, it was in the shade and enjoyable to run around for an hour.
We also tried to watch what we ate, trying to stay in our estimated calorie goals(2400 for me). I believe I was able to stay within my goal as most cruise ships supply delicious healthy food choices made with top ingredients. We ate plenty of fresh salad, fresh fruits, eggs and lean meats. Soooo I am sitting here trying to realize how I had gained 25 pounds of bloat in 10 days… Yes I weighed 216 pounds the day I got home from the cruise. The answer? I drank my face off… every single day. I had a countless number of drinks for 9 nights. Here is a pic on one of the last days of the cruise:
Now it has been one full day since we came back and I just had the chance to finish my favorite push/pull workout and went for a 7 mile run shortly after. I am down to 205 pounds… 11 pounds lost of bloat, I am looking forward to seeing that number on the scale drop hopefully to 195!
I had an awesome time on the cruise! I recommend it to anyone! I knew I was going to gain some pounds but was shocked to see 216 when I got back… This proves to me that drinking can really throw anyone off track who is looking to maintain or even loose weight.
AFitGeek is now engaged!!! I asked my girlfriend Angelica to Marry me this weekend! SHE SAID YESSS!!
Here is how it all went down, I brought up the idea of going away for just the two of us to a wonderful place down the Jersey Shore called Long Beach Island. Over the years we have come to enjoy the beachy town it is not as crowded as the other places down the Jersey Shore and has a more relaxing atmosphere. I wanted to go down and beat all the seasonal shore traffic and boy did we hit a home run. The town’s many seasonal shops where just opening and it was not crowded at all. We spent the day walking around to there many shops, got some lobster bisque from the chowder hut and some coffee from cool beans. We decided that it was so nice out we should go relax on the beach. We headed back towards our hotel(the seashell) and that’s where I stashed the ring in my pocket. My original plan was to wait till after our romantic dinner we planned for later that night. But I could not wait, after I picked up the ring the day before I just wanted to propose! So after some time relaxing on the beach and talking about life I knew it was time to PoP the question, so I got down on one knee on the sandy sunny beach and said Angelica will you marry me! She was so excited she was shaking, I picked the perfect time to give her the ring in all its sunny shiny glory.
So here is a pic of us on the beach after we got engaged:

And check out my awesome permanent Ginnie-Tee the sun gave me:

We had plans the whole day to get lunch at the Chicken or the Egg home of some of the best wings(and hottest) you will ever eat. For appetizer we had an ordered of hot wings “naked” and Jerk Chicken wings “breaded”, for entree Angelica ordered “Just a big salad” a great healthy choice… I on the other hand got the special of the day, fried chicken and sausage gravy over a Belgian waffle served with syrup and fries yum. For dinner we went to the marlin and enjoyed some drinks and a toast, someone special called the restaurant and ordered us champagne for this special occasion(Angelica’s wonderful and beautiful mom). We spent the next day back with our families for Mother’s Day.
I will remember this weekend for the rest of my life! I LOVE YOU ANGELICA!
